so the printer ellen and i have owned for two weeks is suddenly not so much with the printing. I called the HP line and they guy was very helpful (and sounded cute and i occasionally lost the thread of the conversation as i imagined various uses for printing ribbons), but in the end, like always, nobody has any idea what's wrong with my device and they are just mailing me a new one.

the minor electrical field power strikes again. I really am a mutant, it's just that my powers aren't any good for doing anything besides ruining my stuff.

but today is my day off, so i get to hang around and write and not go outside where it is cold. Sounds like a good day for a meme.

Give me something to rave about. Pairing, fandom, quirk of life, whatever. I will tell you what i think rocks hardcore about it.

I'm glad you're getting a new one! HP printers can be kind of scary.

I understand. Doesn't it suck? I've had static so bad here that it killed my trackball and once reset my alarm clock to 12:00 by touching it. Not to mention Jeff's computer dying like clockwork every 2 weeks.

lol, woah, you reset your alarm? that's an awesome story. Mine is more like a gradual interference. Like i have four clocks near me often (both computers, the cell, and the alarm) and they have to be recalibrated about once a week or so, because by the end of the week, they will all say radically different things.

my cell phone doesn't ring sometimes, but only when it's in my pocket. This thing with the printer? happened the same exact way to my external CD burner and to my digital camera. and they never know what's wrong, things just freak out.

i totally do that to Ellen's laptop. it hates me. Like my stuff is all okay with me because it is used to me, but as soon as i try to do anything to Hedwig it suddenly becomes the Slowest Ibook On Earth (TM).

it also doesn't help that ellen baby-talks hedwig into doing everything, whereas in my world the computer does what you tell it to and does it right the hell now.

I gave up on watches with hands because they always stop, even the expensive ones. The digital ones seem to be fine. My phone does the same thing! It drives me nuts.

We thought we had an electrical problem here, so we bought a UPS battery backup, but it's not helping. I guess I'm not the only one!
