NOOOO, no more fandoms! Prince of Tennis wasn't supposed to be entertaining! It was supposed to be crap so that I could work on my Sparta lesson plan!

Damn you, Japan!

(i gave a little squeal of dorkery when the freshmen were introducing themselves and most of them used 'desu' but then Hoshio used 'oure', because I knew immediately who was supposed to be the ass. Yay cultural context!)

oh oh, i am going to SUCK YOU IN just you wait.

just as soon as i figure out who these freaking people are. So far, my favorite guy is the main character's dad, who's supposed to be this hardcore tennis legend, but his only scene so far has been him laying in the backyard reading a girly magazine.

Ha, try all you want, I'm due for some successful resistance by now.

"From tennis superstar to sunbathing perv." Sounds like an episode of E! True Hollywood Story or something. X3

Live-action Prince of Tennis musical. It is as insane as it sounds ^^; I'll see if I can get a copy of it and mail it to you. (When I saw it, it was in raw Japanese, but I don't think you need subtitles to understand what's going on.)

I don't think so. Who wrote it?

I dunno...they're awesome but enigma? He likes tennis. A lot. Also cats but that's later. I'm summarizing but still...

And Momo-chan is crazy but still *love*.

oh my goodness, that's hilarious. is it official, or is it some nutso fan thing? lol, it's funny you should mention this because i've had the buffy musical stuck in my head all today.

CLAMP does it, and normally i don't care so much for them, but these boys i enjoy. lots of snarking. the main site is here (http://www.tokyopop.com/dbpage.php?propertycode=LEG&categorycode=BMG).

Oh, no, quite official ^____^ . Very popular in Japan, I hear. And, yes, they do sing while they play tennis.

The only CLAMP series I've read are Clover (good, but I wish they'd finish the damn thing) and xxxHOLiC (varies from bleh to decent, and seems to bemore of a vehicle for crossovers than actual stories). Legal Drug sounds interesting. I'll see if they have it at Renaud-Bray.

Oh, and I don't know if you've seen this, but Sabina ([livejournal.com profile] petronia) started up an original boy's-love comm, [livejournal.com profile] bb_shousetsu, for intentionally cliched, cracked out yaoi stories.

(The deadline for the first issue is August 16, if you're interested in participating ^^ )

oh hush, you and your sucking in ness.

there's 178 of these things! this is going to kill me (and perportedly there is a live-action musical? the cracked-out quality of japanese television never fails to amaze).

Ah. So I'm not hopelessly ignorant. XD

And the official translation is "You still have lots more to work on" but that's a pretty bad one. It doens't translate directly but it means something along the lines of "not yet" in the sense that the other person sucks and is worse than him...I'm explaining badly but basically he's being insulting.

gah, not only do I NOT have cable right now but my ethernet portal is busted and so I can't even take advantage of Alexis' DSL.

I hate life right now.

How're the CTY kids?

And after you're done with all the episodes and the musical (which I haven't checked out -- am still afraid), there're several cracky little specials and at least one movie. Oh, and a radio show. And the manga itself, of course, which goes on beyond the anime BUT WHICH I HAVE NOT BEEN ABLE TO FIND SCANLATIONS FOR, WOE.

*beams*

Welcome to the world of gay tennis boys!
