fantomeq the pattern i used to knit her socks. While I was at it, I scanned in some other stuff I really like:
The Socks (Knitting): Page 1 Page 2 Page 3 Page 4
The best directions for turning a heel ever, totally easy to follow. The Magic Stripe self-striping yarn makes awesome socks with these, but I find I have to use the Sport Weight directions rather than the Fingering Weight. If you knit pretty tight, that might not be true for you.
The Panel Afghan (crochet): Page 1 Page 2
I meant to make this for myself but ended up giving it as a christmas present. Assembly takes a lot longer than you think it will, but so gorgeous! One of my favorite afghan patterns.
The Sunburst/Sunflower Afghan (crochet): Page 1 Page 2 Page 3 Page 4 Page 5
Don't be afraid of this one, i know the directions look terrifying in size, but when you read them, you'll see they are basically asking you to do the same thing over and over.
The circular ripple pattern is my very favorite pattern ever. But I HATE the colors they want you to use, so I've done a bunch of different two and three stripe variations. This pattern is the one I use to make the sunflower afghan:
To do the sunflower I get a full skein of Red Heart brown (7-8 oz) a full skein of yellow (7-8 oz), and then usually i just have some green laying around; it doesn't take very much. I usually have some extra yellow around too, so you may want to get a few more ounces if you are worried about running out. The whole thing makes a nice baby blanket; i think trying to make a full size sunflower would look a bit silly since the colors are all solid.
Follow the directions like normal, just ignore their color choices. Use the brown until it runs out, then use yellow until the blanket is about the size you want. use the green to do the second set of fill-in points (it's okay if you aren't at the row for that yet, i find it looks more sunflower-like if the green sticks out a bit anyway).
