This Post Is About Rats

1) My mom and I went to the sneak preview of Ratatouille, and as I'm sure you can guess, I was totally dead of cute in about three seconds. It didn't hurt that the rat looks exactly like Atobe. Go see it when it comes out for real, because it's really funny and adorable, just as you'd expect from Pixar.

2) speaking of Atobe, he's been taking his antibiotics and tolerating me cleaning off his scab a couple times a day, which was all fine and dandy until we got back from the movie tonight, and Atobe had eaten the whole scab off, and I could see his insides.

EW EW OH GOD. SO GROSS. It's not doing anything horrible though, so I just cleaned it out some more and gave him his next batch of antibiotics and lined the cage with clean flannel. We'll just have to play it by ear, I suppose.

3) while googling this whole 'my rat just ate his scab' thing, I stumbled across a Japanese rat blog. Much like Colbert and his rivalry with Rain, sometimes I really feel that my life is collapsing in on itself in a black hole of things that I love.

GAH YUCK. He'll probably be fine. Oreo ate all her stitches twice, and it was all right. Putting a cone on her head was hilarious though. It lasted two seconds and then she attacked it and buried it so she wouldn't have to look at it.

I think he's okay really, it doesn't seem to be bugging him, and he's on antibiotics, so as long as i keep it clean, he should be fine. The swelling around it is down today.

yeah, it doesn't seem to be bugging him, so i'll just keep on with the cleaning and the drugs.
