well, as usual, something that should be fun and easy turns out to absorb a half hour of my life with no result in the end.

I have a Samsung SGH-x497 phone, and I'm trying to get a ringtone on it that I can actually tolerate to listen to. I can get it uploaded to a spot where i might download it, but it keeps saying "file too large" which is kind of ridiculous since at this point the file is 20 seconds long, mono, 8 bit, and 300k. it ain't gettin any smaller.

My phone has more than 2000k free. Does anybody have any help for this?

I off to retrieve my wallet and play more wii. grrrrr.

My mom is having the same problem with her phone (she has a samsung too). I think hers can't play mp3s, which is the problem. Can yours?

the short answer is, i have no idea, but when i went in to clean out my audio folder, one of the things already in there was labeled as an mp3, so i'm assuming the answer is yes.

I just really, really pissed off it won't tell me what the maximum file size IS. i could spend all week guessing, only i think that i won't. jerks.

I was trying different file sizes on hers, but none of them worked.>< They are douches for not saying.

This sounds wierd, but is there anyway you can email a working ringtone and the one you are having a problem with?

I have a program that can convert the bad ringtone to make it the same type of file as the one that is working correctly.

It may be the wrong sample rate. These things are crazy ^_^
