merry_smutmas fic yet, but others have gotten loads of good stuff, and I'm enjoying it all.
Went to Candy Lane tonight with a bunch of other RAs, including Colin. FREEZING! But we saw reindeer and got kettle corn and things, so all worth it. I offered to buy Colin a soda at one point and he said "Aw man, if you buy me a soda, then it's a date, and I'll have to put out at the end." I warned him against the dangers of the self-fufilling prophecy. *snuggles Colin secretly*
Perversely, I really like this liking somebody unattainable business, because there's no pressure to reveal the secret desire to schnoogle. It's all to the good, I'm graduating and he reminds me too strongly of David for me to be sure it's totally honest. I'm content to encourage low-key girlfriend rebellion and discuss theoretical cat deaths over kettle corn.
In other news:
Terry Boot is dead.
I was more than a little shocked, I saw Harry's entry, then I checked the logs to find the comment about it being Terry, then tracked down McGonagall's post and Ginny's. I formed a very satisfying theory where Harry killed Terry in a fit of passion,and an even better one where Remus did it during their meeting ("whoops, wand slipped!") before I read Seamus' innocuous cut-tag.
Holy fuck. Caught totally unprepared. Of all the people who wanted Terry to burn slowly, Seamus struck me as the person who was the least-involved-but-still-involved. Although to be fair, I only read his journal sporadically since he didn't seem key to the plot arc.
scrounged around some more for references and stumbled across the NC-17 archive, which is new. Read the Draco/Terry sessions that were up, including the polyjuice and the last one. Was thoroughly squicked. Was unable to decide whether I like Terry being dead or not. I'm only sure that he more than half deserved it.
On the other hand, I wanted to see the Remus/Terry confrontation, and I wanted to see who was going to break the news to Harry, who isn't stupid enough to spend a whole break with Draco and not know something was up.
guess I can take him off my Flist, at any rate.
