I just finished up doing some Marcus/Oliver research, because i had a request for it and had never read it before. Prillar rocks, is what i found out.

since we just had a Harry/Sirius, I guess we ought to even things up with a Harry/Remus, as per the request of [livejournal.com profile] cave_canem who has been very patiently reading these all day. Hurt/Comfort for you, canem. Short, but hopefully powerful.

Shouting Match

It was unclear whether Harry or Remus was more startled when Harry walked into Remus' room and began screaming at him.

Harry hadn't meant to, he'd meant to go in and ask if Remus wanted Molly to do any laundry for him, but then he'd seen Remus sitting there, reading on Sirius' bed as though nothing had happened, and Harry just snapped.

Harry shouted himself hoarse, screamed at Remus for letting Sirius die, for leaving him here, for not coming to find Harry, for not believing Sirius, for letting his parents die, for everything he could think of, and by the time he got to screaming at Remus for being born, his voice cut out abruptly, and he simply stood there, chest heaving and swallowing painfully.

Remus shouted back, which was even more of a surprise.

He yelled at Harry, stood up and crossed the room and yelled in his face for being an ass and hurting Sirius, and getting him killed, and not killing Voldemort the first time, and not killing Peter when he'd had the chance, and because if he hadn't been born James and Lily might still be alive, might not have gotten married so young like stupid children and wasted their lives on Dumbledore's pants cause just to die in the end.

They stood there, neither one of them able to shout any more, chests heaving, Harry's glasses steamed up from tears and the heat of his face so he yanked them off and threw them across the room.

Then he launched himself at Remus and clung to his chest, shaking all over, and Remus clutched at him because he was shaking too.

And when Harry leaned up and kissed Remus, Remus kissed him back even though he shouldn't have, because he needed Sirius and Sirius wasn't here and Harry was enough like Sirius to make it work for now, and he was sick of being the adult here anyway.

...he'd meant to go it and ask if Remus wanted Molly to do any laundry for him...

And please explain "Dumbledore's pants cause" to me, because it sounds like another colorful expression I've never heard. And if it's not, we should make it one. ^.~

Not quite what I was expecting when I made my astounding prediction earlier, but very emotional and dramatic, the way shouting matches oughta be, and you still managed to get a bit of R/S in there. Hee.

And did you know that one of the alternatives LJ's spell-check provides for "Dumbledore's" is "Ambulatories?" XD

Oh, oh. Short and powerful it is. I like the way you have both of them shouting it out all the way down to the truly childish accusations--it's like stripping down the layers of everything each of them has been bottling up as they tend to do, playing off of Harry's similarities to Sirius (definite button there ;) ), making Remus lose control (another one), and dragging them kicking and screaming through catharsis. Mm. You inspire me.

Patient? Me? It doesn't take patience--it takes a greedy MWPP addiction and good ficlets. ;)

pants as in stupid, dumbledore's stupid, crappy cause.

I didn't realize how hilariously stupid that sounded right there in the middle until several people mentioned it. It's sort of randomly funny, like a bad infomercial for some charity cause. "Won't you give," pleads Molly weasley, tears in her eyes "give for Dumbledore's pants cause! think of the children!"

oh man, I can get R/S into anything. Anything.

haha, i meant 'pants' as in crappy, stupid, like "I did a pants job writing that sentence."

This was not meant to be Dumbledore smut. >.

I meant to say 'crappy OR stupid' not to call you stupid. 3 AM. heh.

*adds "pants" as amusing synonym for "stupid" to vocabulary*

Think of the children, indeed. XD

It's a natural gift. Would that all who 'ship anyone at all were so lucky!

Mmmmwah. Perfect. Exactly the sort of thing I love to read--to the point and intense and leaves you in the breathless state the characters are in. And this is exactly the Harry/Remus that I believe in, after OotP.

*g* glad you liked, since it was for you.

I love the idea of making Remus lose control, it's what powers a lot of my R/S as well, although when Sirius does it it's more of a planned attack, whereas Harry tends to do it accidentally.

I tell you what, i'd rather see Remus shag the hell out of harry than try to be his new godfather. it's less OC.

Guh. That was painful.

Remus should lose his temper more often. Ouch.

I think so. I don't think that Remus is much the godfatherly type. I think he could be a friend, possibly a confidant depending on how Harry's attitude goes, possibly a lover (sadly, not in canon, but hey, we can wish), but not a "new father". I really think Harry will be turned off of the whole family thing.
