It's not that I have anything exciting to post this morning, it's just that I've been through my flist and all the internet stuff I usually do and I still have a bunch more yogurt to eat because Chobani is like 300% yogurt so I eat it pretty slowly.

*eyes timestamp* I am still sleeping an ungodly amount. I really don't understand it, i don't seem to be coming down with anything and now it's been weeks since school ended, I've been eating pretty well and taking my vitamins and exercising normally...stupid body.

Speaking of telling my body it's crap, while I was on Amazon ordering a copy of Cook This, Not That because it sounded interesting, some demon possessed me and I ended up with a copy of Jackie Warner's This is Why You're Fat. I really don't know why I did that, since I don't generally enjoy reading muscular women telling me how everything I try is totally wrong, but I did and I did read it and I can see the validity of some of it.

Mostly, to sum up very loosely, her thing is that sugar is the problem, and after looking at labels for two days, I can see why (not like I didn't look at labels before, because I always do, I just never looked hard at sugar before). The goal is to eat things with 5g or less of sugar so your insulin doesn't spike, and just to take two things, my chobani yogurt and 1% milk are both wayyy out. Sigh. I don't even like yogurt! you all told me I had to eat it! and every time somebody tells me i should switch to almond milk i throw up a little in my mouth. also apparently negative thinking makes you fat, so I think I might be screwed on that count. And then she goes on about endorphins and how they make you feel so good and you want to exercise, and let me tell you if i could take an endorphin supplement instead of fucking whey protein, I would be right there on that.

anyway, whatever. I redid my nails ravenclaw colors for HP this week. My right hand came out like shit because it was so hot the polish was drying too fast, so now i'm debating whether I'm too lazy to redo it or not. I probably am.

guinea pigs are cleaned and it is drama night tonight, and somehow everybody got super into Misaki no 1!! after all, which makes me lol. Now I really want to do Ikemen Desu ne with them, so I hope we get fast subbers.

and now i am going to the gym *determination*

I love Chobaniiii. Yah, the flavored ones have a lot of sugar, but I eat it for the protein :)

Fage greek yogurt >>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>> Chobani and all other brands

Seriously though. Fage is so smooth and not as pungent as Chobani. In plain yogurt the sugar is lactose which some people deem acceptable compared to added sugar (sucrose). You can add your own fruit to plain ones and all that...but I am lazy and just eat the ones with the sugary fruity bits lol

Plain yogurt AND your 1% milk, btw. It isn't added sugar on those counts.

Damn me not having a paid account anymore so I can edit. Gah!

And ITA, why haven't they invented an endorphine pill yet?!

Is this the original chobani? I usually eat the flavored ones and they have a more calories/ sugar :(!

Yes, above is for 0% plain. The flavored ones are more complicated to compare as fage is 5.3oz and chobani is 6oz. But the bottom line is that the yogurt's nutritional information per ounce is the same regardless of the topping.

But here are some calculations for you if you want to compare them directly.

Fage 0% Strawberry Goji flavor in 5.3oz (converted to 6oz equivalent)
Calories 120 (135)
Sodium 50mg (56mg)
Sugars 16g (18g)
Protein 13g (14g)

Chobani 0% Strawberry flavor (6oz)
Calories 140
Sodium 65mg
Sugars 19g
Protein 14g

i can only eat the blueberry kind regularly, which has some cane sugar in it. I've tried just about every other flavor i think, but blueberry is the only thing that's powerful enough to sort of counter-act the yogurt flavor.

although now that it's summer i'm eating it a lot more than the other kind because i'm using it as a meal, so I got a big thing of the vanilla because it was a lot cheaper than continuously getting little blueberries, so i suppose we'll see how I hold up with that.

I'd be willing to try something else, I suppose, but I don't think that's a brand I have around me. Next time I'm at the wegmans i'll have a look around for it.

and in the case of my chobani, it's totally added sugar with the fruit flavors, although it is cane sugar and not some weird sweetener, at least. The milk i'll probably just live with since I'm already drinking 1% and stuff.

If you don't like almond milk I'm guessing you also don't like soy or rice milk? I love rice milk but it's a little watery for some people (I just think it tastes nummy), and I think soy milk is nice and hearty! I'm lactose intolerant so I had to go through the sad parting of ways from milk too :/

Although I have to say I think anyone who says negative thinking makes you fat is full of shit. Eyeroll.

I find it at the regular super markets around me in NJ. Pathmark/Stop and Shop/Shoprite...I think even some targets carry it. I used to looove chobani and now I could never go back lol They have a locator thing on their website: http://www.fageusa.com/store-locator/

I meant not ALL of it is added sugar in the flavored ones by saying that, but yeah it is a significant portion.

it's more just like, i like regular milk and i get seriously fed up when people are like 'your normal milk isn't good enough! drink milk made from nuts!' because i feel like, milk comes from mammals, people. it sort of weirds me out to think of getting milk from nuts. idk. there's this seriously annoying series of commercials i keep seeing now where they go to convince families of the error of their ways for drinking regular milk.

well, i mean the power of suggestion definitely has some kind of hold, it's true. i'm sure it would help some if i thought about how working out is good for me instead of how much I hate it, but i'm not very good at bullshitting myself. Curse of being smart, yo.

I like both, truth be told! Even before I couldn't drink lactose I drank the nut etc. milks~ but tbh drinking milk from the teat of an animal weirds me out more than drinking nut milk, lollll.
