a question for the flist
Oct. 5th, 2004 11:35 amare you guys doing NaNoWriMo?
I think I might.
Oral presentation on translating Propertius in two hours. Yes, I will be mentioning J-Pop during it. No, that has nothing to do with the fact that I watched a bunch of illicitly-dubbed Gravitation episodes rather than work on this presentation last night.
(katharine, if all else fails, there's always the full monty)

Date: 2004-10-05 09:39 am (UTC)I'm considering it. I have an interesting idea for a military sf novella (with zombies), but I need to do more research on related *stuff* and jot out an outline before I can be sure that there's a good enough story to write.
Good luck on your presentation!

Date: 2004-10-05 09:59 am (UTC)I'm on the fence about whether to do a sci-fi one or not, i have a regular fiction idea that is just about as decent, but i'm concerned i'll get bored without magic to play with (too much fanfiction, i fear).

Date: 2004-10-05 10:32 am (UTC)You still have a month to make up your mind. I'd plan them both out, and then once November rolls around, pick the one that's the furthest along.
If you're worried about the lack of magic, is there any way you might change the regular fiction thing into urban fantasy, or magical realism? Just add a touch of magic, nothing more. Like a caffeine drip for surgical patients who drink too much coffee ;)

Thanks for making my day, Sara. If things go badly, yes, indeed, there is always the full monty...
