a random poll about YGO fic naming conventions

I've noticed that in different fics, different authors use a handful of different names for Yu-Gi-Oh! characters, especially the spirits of the Millenium Items. I was just wondering what people thought about that, since i know a lot of you get sensitive about canon/fanon terminology in fic.

Whenever I think my own fandom has issues with names, I will think of this and remember that it could be so much worse.

there is no fandom like it on earth, i swear to god. I don't know why people haven't got it together in the ten years the thing has been on TV.

It is the only fandom where honestly i am starting to prefer the AU fic, because everybody has their own body! and their own name! and everybody can hear everybody else talking!
