vet update
Jul. 14th, 2005 09:55 amMulciber has returned, oral antibiotic in tow. The vet said that his lungs sounded a little rough, but all things considered, he looks really good for a nearly two-year-old rat. of course he refused to make the scary wheezy noise for the vet, but i kind of expected that.
He was very good, considering i took him in without a cage and there were barking dogs and bright lights and vets with cold stethoscopes. he's a tad worn out from the experience though, and he's out cold on my bed.
we're going to save the first antibiotic administration attempt for later, i think, when he is relaxed and unsuspicious.

Date: 2005-07-14 02:12 pm (UTC)in other, less-depressing news, I'm torrenting SG:A. How do you get it to stop giving a NAT error with our router? Or did you ever figure that out?

Date: 2005-07-14 04:22 pm (UTC)I logged into the router and directed it to forward the torrent ports to my computers IP address.
There was an "Application Forwarding" tab on the router's configuration page.
You may have to figure out what ports to forward... I think my torrent client uses 6881-6889 or something like that.
Please give Mulciber a kiss from me, Sara.
I still remember when Glinda-rat got sick and couldn't bar-press anymore (6th grade pet).

Date: 2005-07-14 06:07 pm (UTC)In any web browser, browse to "192.168.1.1". Unless you guys are doing something different, that should bring up a log-in menu. The default username and password are "admin" and "admin", though I changed mine because I'm a nervous nelly.
If 192.168.1.1 doesn't work, you can open Apple's System Preferences, click on "Network", click on configure (after selecting your airport connection, if necessary), and then note the address listed next to "Router". Plug that number into your browser (http://192.168.1.1).
I am, of course, giving you this advice under the belief that everything you are downloading is 100% legal, etc. etc.

Date: 2005-07-14 06:12 pm (UTC)the torrent ports are actually 6881-6999 now. What you should make sure, ellen, is that the IP address listed there is the one assigned to your computer. You can check it under the system preferences networks tab, it should just say.
but i wasn't getting NAT errors, it just wouldn't connect sometimes. for actually errors, try looking on the BT FAQ page. it might be a problem with the torrent itself, and there might be a newer one someplace you can get that won't give you the same error.
Hello, Douglas! Get your afghan from ellen! and Mulciber says hello (or sneezes, whichever).
