sociofemme and i spent most of the night calling each other to howl over selected HBP passages (clearly we must be in the same place next time), but i had to give up and take a nap around 5 am.

In particular, 'Probity probes' and Remus' 'furry little problem' were the big winners i can recall at this moment.

As i was drifting off to sleep at 5 am, i came to the sudden conclusion that Snape was the Prince, and for the first time ever in the course of reading an HP book, was actually correct! previous to this, i had harbored hopes that Sirius would turn out to be him, and half-blood was just a fuck you to his family, and also that Harry would inherit the motorbike along with the house.

this explains why i was yelling "Motorbike! MOTORBIKE!" at nothing before Kreacher showed up and dashed my hopes.

Mulciber gets another token mention. hehe.

I was in no mood for the token lupin/tonks when it showed up, and was pleased to see Remus rebuffing her with practiced ease, and furthermore that harry says they seemed to be holding hands, rather than just saying they were, and why wouldn't you hold a sad friend's hand at a funeral anyway? and if that's clutching at straws, well, you'll never kill my OTP, and anyway, Sirius is dead, so Remus can sleep with anyone he chooses.

Bill getting married probably means that he won't show up as the DADA professor next year (double damn), but i liked that Snape doesn't get to keep it either.

Redeemed Draco. Who knew? Maybe Jo was dipping in the fandom a bit early in the day when she plotted this.

RAB is FLAGRANTLY Regulus (probably Alphard) Black and i can't believe nobody even comes close, where have you BEEN for the last three books, what do you need a magic tapestry, OH WAIT YOU HAVE ONE YOU FOOLS.

Three's still my favorite, but i like this better than five, despite the fact that it really fails to feel like the other five in most ways. But anyone who can make me cry over Dumbledore (although it was Bill who really got me going) must be doing something right, and I still keep the faith that we will see what is at the end of the tunnel when we get there.


But what i was really thinking was that this is probably the only HP book that the rat will get to read with me, so I let him chew the book just a little.

OMG IT COULD SO TOTALLY BE REGULUS, I expected three separate people seeing as you needed more than one to get in, still, that does have a cheeky certain Black flavouring leading the locket.

Someone ruined the ending for me. They're going to get small animals shoved up their orifices.

When Bill was mentioned, all I could think of in HORROR was "NOT THE FACE! NOT THE FAAAACE", yet sadly.

I liked this book though, because this was Severus's book and he's my favourite character and I love him more than ever before. Hee.

Yeah, though it's a non-issue considering my auntie sleeps like the dead. Most of this book I read on the go, in the Shopping centre where people gawked at me and how far I've gotten, on public transport where my stifled laughter drew Looks and at work where everyone asked IF IT WAS GOOD and I couldn't think of an answer yet because the ending counts towards such an opinion. I screamed at all the inappropriate moments, especially Draco's "You're trying to steal MY GLORY!"

I liked it more than all the others because it didn't feel like the other five. There is a whole world out there beyond hogwarts that you really begin to see and understand. You have to realize, though, that RAB being Regulus is MUCH more obvious to the reader, who has to choose from only a small subset of the names available to the characters. Hermione, of course, is searching though true "victims," not internecine kills, and so will continue to miss Regulus. I'll probably be ready to pound Harry before he thinks of it in book 7, but his cluelessness on this isn't bothering me yet.

And yeah -- I like R/SB, but R/T doesn't bother me a bit -- they both deserve someone nice.

okay okay im a loser but i finally finished. im not sorry for taking my time through it either it made it better. :-)

so it sounds like you think harry is still returning to school in the 7th book? i know he says he wasnt going but i can see mrs weasly (or even mcgonagall now) telling him he has to go back.

remus/tonks thing....well i just dont like it. there was enough romance stuff going around, why did she have to add that in there??

as far as snape being the half blood prince....it crossed my mind at the beginning but then harry said that he thought maybe the book was his dads, then said no because his dad was pure-blood but ALSO because the book was too old, and the previous owner had the book quite a few years before his dad was there, so that would mean snape coudlnt have been it either. i knew it was way too obvious to be riddle's, but i figured it would have been someone at school with him.

dumbledore just had to die. he was harry's last protection, and all protective people had to be gone because harry needs to face voldemort alone. so that didnt surprise me although i was quite upset anyway. wonder if his portrait is going to have much impact later, as the past headmasters always comment on stuff happening in the office.

i gotta admit the initials through me but i figured the B was someone in the Black family but i couldnt remember all the names mentioned and i was gonna look back...but now i dont have to. thanks. :-)
