so...after watching all three LotR's in a row, I'd been ragging on two of my friends at school about the high volume of questionable exchanges between Legolas and Gimli, with the understanding that I'm blatantly misreading it because it's funny.

When I got home, I dug out my old beat copy of RotK to read the Appendices, and lo and behold, the end of App A says this:
