A few weeks ago, Loveless became the 20th fandom in which I have written fic. To celebrate, I initiated the following celebration of my dorkery:

The Sekrit Projekt
20 fandoms, 20 stories, 20 songs
and one completely insane author

I had initially planned to do something along the lines of 20 Themes, but that was fandom specific, and 30 Kisses, which is multi-fandom, obviously needs 30. So I came up with my own idea.

I set my itunes library on random and pressed play; then wrote down the first 20 songs it played. I admit I skipped a few (none of you wants fic based on some of the crap i've got on here, trust me), but dropped everything else onto a new playlist. The final order of the songs is the order they came up originally.

I took a look through the titles and lyrics while I listened, and started writing with whatever fandom and idea took me in any given moment; the first fic to get written was the Velvet Goldmine, and the last was the Harry Potter. A few fandoms got picked up an dropped as I changed ideas, and since some of the original 20 were really a one-time deal, a few new ones appeared.

So I actually have 24 fandoms now *shuffles foot*, but 21 are present here.

As the projekt took on a life of its own, it ended up becoming sort of like a mutant mix CD, and that's how I pass it on to you.

Clicking on the name of the song will take you to the fic, clicking on the title of the artist will let you download the song from Megaupload.

I hope you all enjoy reading and listening as much I enjoy writing! Thanks for you all your feedback and fannish love over the last 3 (officially) years.

Liner Notes: Thanks a million times over to [livejournal.com profile] musesfool, [livejournal.com profile] darkeyedwolf, [livejournal.com profile] ramen_addict, and [livejournal.com profile] sociofemme. You put up with me through cryptic statements, fic diasters, total burnout, and handful of temper tantrums. I hope that getting the early peek was thanks enough, but if you four want to request a fic of your own, I will gladly comply.

I'm sitting here reading through them, at least the ones for fandoms I know anything about, and I'm struck by how DIFFERENT each is. You've got a very different voice for all of them, and that voice matches the fandom in lovely ways.

thank you! I think that's what makes a good fic author, you have to be able to get inside the characters, and understand the heart behind the series, and that's going to be different for every single fandom you're in.

I'm glad it seems that way to you too *g*

Dude, Sara was hoping this would become a fannish THING. Take it! Use it! Love it!

If you have a roommate, though, warn her first. FOR THE LOVE OF GOD WARN HER. I've thought Sara was completely depressed and on the verge of slitting her wrists for weeks, and she's really just been crazed from working on this huge-ass project. *facepalm*

I think i'm going to set up a Comm right now, as a matter of fact. I was pondering doing it, but thought maybe i was the only person who is completely insane. *g*

You are either 1) insane, or 2) a minor miracle. Wow, this is a fantastic lot of fics! Thank you so much for making my day a better one.

*hoses you with Gatorade*

There's always at least a little part of me that spazzes out a bit when you ask me to look at something for you, so you can rest assured that I won't be trying to make you keel over like that guy who ran to Marathon. ;)

I'm so glad [livejournal.com profile] musesfool linked to this; it's great.

Also, I put "Get Out of This House" on a Rogue (X-Men)-themed mix CD I did, for her relationship with Mystique. It's cool to see another fandom take on it. :-)

What a fabulous concept! I'm in awe of the scope of this project -- it's hella intimidating to work on something with this many parts.

And I wish I knew more of your fandoms. ^_^
