Nov. 10th, 2005 09:16 amI'm concerned about going to class, because I think the only keeping me from having the final breakdown is the fact that the J-Pop is too loud for me to hear myself thinking.
Why did I think it was a good idea not to cancel work at the library after four hours of presentations?
Am reverting to fandom where people love me. NaNo may be a lost cause this year.
Does anybody have a good pattern for long skirts? I'm having a hard time finding ones I like, so I think i may try and make some when my mother is up to help. I have a sewing machine and stuff. I am reasonably proficient.

Date: 2005-11-10 05:08 pm (UTC)How is the teaching going for you? being in the high school latin classes is really the only thing about my ed program that I enjoy. They aren't as bright as CTY kids sometimes, but then again they aren't social misfits either. Some of them even go on dates that aren't in bushes!
Hope things are better you way!

I wish I had something more reassuring or constructive to say, but...I just don't. Remember, when in doubt, there's always the full monty (although perhaps refrain from trying that around any minors...we don't want you arrested).

Knitting, man, I tell you. The people in my class yesterday were like "those will be the warmest socks every, because you're making them WITH YOUR RAGE."

Date: 2005-11-10 07:50 pm (UTC)Skirts with at least a little bit of flare towards the bottom are better, cause I look like a fool in a sheath skirt. Silly hips. I'm about a 16, if that makes any sort of difference.

Date: 2005-11-10 11:26 pm (UTC)Righto then. My favorite skirt patterns come from Simplicity. Currently I'm making some winter skirts, and two of them are from 5914 (http://simplicity.com/index.cfm?page=thumbnail.cfm&cat=1&type=1&sec=2&id=5&StartRow=28). D is very nice, flowy all the way down. Very easy-none of them have more than a few pattern pieces.
Over in their New Look section, there's the slightly more complicated 6433 (http://simplicity.com/index.cfm?page=thumbnail.cfm&cat=6&type=28&sec=0&id=92&StartRow=10). Again, for length I like D. I haven't actually made this one yet, but I plan to. 6389 ain't bad either.
On the whole, I am a fairly lazy pattern searcher. When I find something I like, I stick with it, and I like 5914. It's an easy little bugger.
