You would not believe what I just went through to get my cds. WOULD NOT BELIEVE. I'm reduced to Momoisms!

So i get home, there's indeed a note on the door that says I missed the guy, and it lists on the back of the slip the real post office. now, technically I can't pick up this package until tomorrow, but it's only 4, so I hustle down to the post office downtown to beg them to give it to me. After waiting in line like 25 minutes, the gender indeterminate employee is like "you can't pick this up yet" but then after arguing a few minutes with him, he gives me the number of the courier package station.

So I call, and they transfer me around a little, and finally some guy says that, yes, my carrier is back, and yes he is holding my package in his hands. Success! i floor it out of the other post office parking lot...and get totally lost in shady downtown Burlington, home of the one-lane one-way vortex.

Fifteen or so minutes later, I finally manage to get back on the street where the courier place is, which, by the way, is like on the other side of my apartment complex. So all this time my cds are like 50 yards from my apartment. So I go and get buzzed in and hand over my slip, and the guy disappears for like 15 minutes, but then FINALLY returns with the box.

Which, might I add, is only carrying two cds and yet is about two feet long and probably six inches square along the base. It looks like i am having a RIFLE mailed to me. So the guy asks for ID, because the entire point of this adventure was that I have to sign for it, fucking registered airmail, and I hand over my license.

"Yeah," he says, "but who's Mousapelli?"

"Buzzah?" I say. I then peer quizzically at the label which has been mailed to "Mousa Pelli".

Fuck you too, cdJapan!

So the poor guy is like "I can't give this to you if you don't have ID or proof of address", and then the only thing I have is my twiddly 'i get into Montpelier High sporting events free!' pass, and finally I said "I am not leaving this building without that package."

And that is how I came to threaten to a postal employee that I would strip right there goddammit if he wanted to see my tattoo.

the threat of me naked seemed to do it. And now I am listening to w-inds.

If the US is Lennie from Of Mice and Men, then Japan is Dustan Hoffman in Rain Man. Brilliant but retarded.

It's a very beautiful thing! Clearly they are destined to be masters of the English language. (All around the world, I've been searching for you~ *WISTFUL SIGH*)

WHAT IS UP WITH THE BACKGROUND OF LIGHT? I KEEP GETTING LIKE POODLESKIRT FLASHBACKS.

Date: 2006-03-22 01:49 am (UTC)
From: [identity profile] mousapelli.livejournal.com
*cracks up* I liked Light a lot! and I actually liked the new version of Izayoi no Tsuki too, quite a bit. Mostly cause I was imagining Ryuichi strumming his little heart out next to keita. aaaaaaw.

So the art on the cd case is kind of like sideways? it faces a different way than you think it should and is also on the BACK NOT THE FRONT >.< so it took me like four tries to get the CD case open!

Oh, me too! The only song I'm not really feeling at this point is Still on the Street, but I'm sure it'll become a favorite once I've exhausted the others so much I'm bleeding boyband Engrish. XD

HAHA DORK. How is it? To have them in your hands? Threats of nudity on innocent postal workers not withstanding.

ITS FUCKING AWESOME IS WHAT IT IS. AND IT IS ALL SHINY. AND THERE IS A POSTER.

Except the poster is the same art as the cd cover? and they're hot and all, but it's all black and white, so I would kind of prefer that it be ANY OTHER PIECE OF PROMO ART EVER.

and keita's ring on a change is what's printed on the cd itself? XD wtf.

Date: 2006-03-22 02:01 am (UTC)
From: [identity profile] darkeyedwolf.livejournal.com
*ENVY* Except that kinda sucks, it's all pretty and TANGIBLE and then it has to be in black and white. (YOU SHOULD'VE GOTTEN THE ONE WITH TRADING CARDS? HAHAHA. THAT WILL NEVER GET OLD.)

Keita's ring what? omg.

Date: 2006-03-22 02:06 am (UTC)
From: [identity profile] mousapelli.livejournal.com
YES. I was a tiny bit bitter. fucking trading cards ahahahaha. SERIOUSLY HOW MANY CAN THERE BE TO TRADE.

YES RING. SHINY AND GIRLY. all up over the front of the cd. No text, no nothing, just keita's ring dangling on its chain.

I'm hoping the other two have matching ones someplace.

YOU UNDERESTIMATE THE AMOUNT OF GAY POSITIONS THEY CAN TEASE US WITH. *writhes* I actually gave my father's co-worker a crash course in the ot3 today (he's really cool, he's the one who shared his experiences with tentacle porn) -- I forced him through It's in the Stars and the last minute of Love is Message, then went through my entire image folder, saying "these positions? THESE CLOTHES? GAY, GAY, GAY." He kept going "but they're just being friendly! and, and they're comfortable with each other!"

... after the 2917262th pic of them being "friendly" while in increasingly questionable outfits, even he admitted "yeah, okay."

I think it was the magical-pink-suit gum commercial that finally did him in.

(By the time I got to a cap of Ryuichi with his mouth wide open in one of the omakes, he even said "practicing?"

*PROUD*)

that's totally disturbing. I inflicted Kirei Da on my entire foreign language methods class, and when the professor came in and was like "okay, time for class" i was like "YOU CAN SIT YOURSELF RIGHT DOWN UNTIL THE BREAKDANCING IS OVER."

Furthermore, in the name of jpop, i am about to burn a cd of Utada Hikaru's piano stuff for my mom.

She rocks my world. I think somebody should write fic where she rocks keita's world. Except that might be a little too weird for me, because i went to college with a girl who went to high school with utada hikaru.

Okay, first: HEE. (Did anyone like it?)

Also, that's pretty cool. :D I think I've only heard a couple of her songs... read a wiki article on her, though, and it blew my mind. She's accomplished so much! It's very intimidating.

From: [identity profile] mousapelli.livejournal.com
she's awesome, I'll send you some stuff if you want.

What's super cool about her is that she got famous and then she moved to the US for school, so you can tell when she starts being influenced by Western pop all the sudden, and even though she's still releasing stuff in Japanese, it's still more western accessible.

I actually downloaded a couple of her singles over four years ago after reading an article about world music, so she's my first J-pop *g* when I got really into it last spring, I dug them out on the ipod and listened to them with new ears.

the UH UH is a winner whenever it happens.
