mousapelli: (interesting)

1. Anyone know of a good French-language pop or rock band? I want to burn a cd as a present for the french intern since she always teases me about my j-pop, but I don't know anything about French pop. [livejournal.com profile] dipping_sauce? Any suggestions?

2. Anybody have Death Note chapters 80 or 81? Those are the only two I can't track down. I want to catch up since there's only one more chapter until the end, evidentally.

Gah, and I'm so far behind on DN! I'll never catch up. I think I don't have anything past 79, actually.

I actually stopped right after 60 before, i'm sure you can guess why, so I have fully half of the manga yet to read. 108 is supposed to be the last one. When I have them all I can zip them for you if you want, cause i had to get them all singly, and it was the biggest pain in the ass.

I read a few more, and now I don't know who a bunch of the characters are. A zip would be awesome. I haven't read it in forever.

Can I get on the zip band wagon? Not that I need to read more but well if it is available and I saw it I would well, yes I would pounce on it like chocolate!

I KNOW. in the trailer, that guy pops up right at the very end for like a split second, and I jumped and shrieked the first time i saw it. I didn't think they could make this movie actually scary since i know what happens, but i think i MAY BE WRONG. *wants*

And for DN, have you tried with Stop Tazmo?

There's also Natasha St. Pier for French Pop, but she isn't in a group... and I've a couple of teenybooper French songs, I think, if you're interested.

ah, cool, thanks for the help! if you have any songs you like in particular, i'd be interested in hearing them.

Stoptazmo is super freaking slow for me, it took me like a million years to get PoT from them. I was using TownL, which was pretty speedy, but it just the lack of batches that was frustrating, when i was down 60 chapters. I'm all set now though!

'kay, I'll upload a couple of songs, then ^^

And lemme see if I've those numbers saved, if I do I'll upload them too ^^

Cool, i'm interested to hear what you have!

A lot of people I know like the french rock band: Kyo

but... I can't specifically think of any tracks they've done.

There's also Placebo's french songs... which I also can't name, but they're good and remain untitled in my ipod.

Les Trois Accords are pretty good (I'm not exactly sure what category they would fit into besides humourous because I'm rubbish at defining music genres ^^;; but they're pop-ish.)

Ah! I've heard of them! They're Montreal-based, aren't they? I was trying to come up with their name earlier, and I couldn't. Thanks!

The only French pop I know is OLD French pop -- Johnny Halliday, '60s "yeye" stuff. Fun, though.

I'd recommend Corneille for solid French-language pop. Try the first album -- maybe dl stuff like "Parce-qu'on vient de loin" or "Seul au Monde."

I'd say the Canadian-based French-speaking band eXterio, they make me melt happily. Try 'Goodbye My Love' or 'Campanile'.
