Date: 2007-08-11 02:08 am (UTC)Although looking at the weather today, I think it's about the same here and in Tokyo.
But anyways, I might come down to do a little shopping, see some friends, POSSIBLY (but probably not) go to Disneyland or something.
If I do, do you guys have a few spare minutes at some point to like, catch a bite maybe? :)
If you want to contact me more directly, feel free to text my phone (rdflynn at softbank dot ne dot jp) or call... (let me know if you want my number, I can email that).

Date: 2007-10-03 03:05 pm (UTC)okay, granted, we don't really know each other, and I'm pretty sure the stalking only goes one way, but if your fics are anything to go by, I think we would've had a rather excellent time in shinjuku.

Date: 2007-10-07 03:45 am (UTC)studying abroad, actually - FOR WAY TOO SHORT OF A TIME. I'm only here for two more months. I haven't exactly reached the period where I have to be frantically buying omiyage for everyone on this planet that knows me, but I'm getting close.
OH SHINJUKU. OH SHIBUYA. OH PEOPLE WHO GROPE YOU ON THE TRAIN.
:P were you here just on vacation, then?

Date: 2007-10-07 02:44 pm (UTC)So we were in Osaka, Tokyo, Kanazawa, and Nagoya, for about ten days altogether. I loved it so much. I normally hate traveling, because i get homesick and my routine gets all messed up, but Japan was different. I would go back in a shibuya second.
also i got totally addicted to combini onigiri. And melon cream fanta, homg. The grocery store near me randomly had Ito En green tea last time i went, and I was all happy/sad at the same time.

Japanese boys for the WIN. I want to take all the ones in my class and send them back to America with me, THEY ARE THAT CUTE.
I joined a tennis circle, and boys playing tennis? KIND OF THE CUTEST THINGS EVER. though now the things I'm most fluent in saying aren't exactly phrases suited to my gender or to any normal conversation, but there you go. :DDDDD
ONIGIRI KIND OF OWNS MY SOUL. so does the 99 yen shops, actually - did you go to those? there's one close to my apartment, and I always stop there to get an onigiri for breakfast on the way to school. AND MELON CREAM FANTA. AND MELON-PAN. AND GREEN TEA POCKY. DHAJDAKJSA. *flails with you*
WHY AREN'T YOU HERE?

Date: 2007-10-07 03:39 pm (UTC)We never did make it to a 100Y shop! We needed one, actually, for glowy bracelets and things, but we could never find one anyplace we were!
haha, ditto about the gender thing. Cause i hate most shoujo, when i was talking i had to think really hard to say "atashi" instead of "boku" or "ore."
on the one subway, two guys were sitting in front of me, debating whether their mutual friend would make a good girlfriend, but they kept using the word "neko-chan" and i was DYING. i hope they had no idea the foreigner could understand most of what they were saying (the verdict was favorable, btw). Japan is like the cute of the whole world concentrated onto one little island.
MELON-PAN. and those little sandwiches that are butter and maple in the middle? and SOBA. I WANT SOME SOBA AND DANGO RIGHT NOW.

Date: 2007-10-07 03:44 pm (UTC)GOD JUST COME. COME BEFORE I LEAVE. WE'LL HAVE ALL THE MELON-PAN THERE EVER EXISTED AND I'LL INTRODUCE YOU TO ALL MY FRIENDS WHO HAVE THE FLUFFY ANIME HAIR.
hahahahha - it's kind of amazing when they say "ore" though. it makes me giggle every time, and now everyone has misconstrued ideas about my sanity (or, erm, very GOOD ideas about it).
THAT IS AMAZING. I was biking (yes, on a BIKE, like the good Japanese girl I am) past this restaurant where all my teammates were, and I waved, and they were all collectively like, "Oi, kaylee-chan! it's kaylee-chan!" it kind of MADE MY LIFE.
it really, really, really is. until you have to deal with the gender roles and the actual, you know, society itself, and then it's not so cute. but we don't have to think about that.
YES. AN-PAN (-MAN). love it. TOTALLY went to kaiten sushi today. I'm so going to miss everyone yelling "IRASHAIIMASE!" at me when I enter a restaurant. DDDDD:

Date: 2007-10-07 04:29 pm (UTC)I love how japanese people do things all at once. at the concerts there was a fake-out encore moment, and all 2k people went "EH?!!" in complete unison every single time. by the third concert i started doing it too, just because i thought it was the funniest thing EVER.
eh, our society sucks too, but we don't have the cute to make it palatable. I'll take the cute. MMMM SUSHI. JEALOUS. Central PA = questionable sushi.

Date: 2007-11-16 09:19 am (UTC)plus? this whole going-to-izakayas-with-the-professors-&-getting-them-drunk thing? TOTALLY DOES NOT GET OLD, EVER. so you should just come here, & get all your students to buy you drinks
especially the high school boys in their uniforms.HAHAHAHHA - I CAN TOTALLY SEE THAT HAPPENING. OH, JAPAN.
