So it turns out you can't put bologna in the oven. um. Really? I put all the other meats in the oven! What the hell, bologna. Why you gotta be so anti.

*is smokey*

it's snowing like crazy so my night meeting got canceled, which should make me happy, but frankly i'm so full of ennui it doesn't even matter. Maybe we'll have a delay tomorrow, but aside from sleeping a couple extra hours I can't say that would make any difference to me either.

I'm yanking my hair again, like i was doing at the end of last year. Today I also realized i was chewing my nails, which i've never done. Terrific.

But whining about it isn't really making me feel any better, so. I'll just go back to writing the Coat West porn, or one of the holiday fics that's due. sigh.

But! You can fry bologna. And make a sandwich of it and colby cheese on white bread, also fried. *may have been fed this as a late night snack frequently as a child; what? my parents are reformed hicks*

*has irrational urge to experiment with bologna and oven* I assume you removed the little plastic thing around the outside, which, by the way, one ought also not to eat, and also one ought to not let one's kitten eat. *ate bologna a LOT as a child*

Your subject line has killed me.

Sadly, I have no bologna icon.

yeah, it was like fresh deli bologna, which i have discovered is the best thing EVER, and doesn't involve any plastic. But i didn't have anything else to throw in the quesadilla, so i used that, and then all the sudden there was all this smoke coming out of the oven...

sigh. It was an okay quesadilla though, if a little singed.

I don't have an icon for this either, curiously. Remy will have to do.

hmm. Ok I have two suggestions if you want to try this again. If you used the super processed kind you buy in the plastic container, that stuff has soooo many additives it is like a hot dog, so maybe if you wrap it up like a hot dog it would work? Like maybe since you exposed the chemicals in a surface area ratio that was too great, it went smokey, but if you wrapped it up so it was smaller like a hot dog, it would be fine.
Or you could get bologna from the deli. That stuff would be more like the meats you put in the microwave already (assuming by that you meant cold cut turkey, ham, and/or roast beef?) and maybe that would work?
I'd try it myself but I like mine cold...
But if you try it post and let us know if it works!

it actually was deli bologna. I think the truth is that you simply can't bake bologna, unless maybe it was like buried in a casserole or something. Mine was buried in a quesadilla, and that didn't seem to help.

I guess next time i want to do quesadillas that way i'll have to fry it.

quesadillas taste better cooked on the stovetop anyway. the outside gets all nice and crispy. mmmmm.
i have to substitue with peanut butter instead of cheese on the inside though and i dont think id be mixing that with bologna anytime soon....

Google tells me you can bake bologna. There are numerous possibilities here. (http://www.astray.com/recipes/?show=Oven%20cooked%20bologna) So... maybe it just didn't like you?

You know, after I started taking my antidepressant, all of my little bad habits like that have pretty much gone away. No more nail biting or anything! I've noticed that on the days I forget to take it, I'm more likely to start again. And hey, you'd feel better! Winter can be so dreary sometimes.

that's not surprising, as they are all anxiety habits.

I've been told anecdotally many times, however, that antidepressants also suppress creative ability/imagination. Several friends have told me that writing becomes much harder for them while on their medication. For me, the writing is not something I'm willing to risk in any way.

So I'll just tough it out. I'll go back to normal over the summer, hopefully.
