With Google, I don't think anyone inputs links into the search engine... links for my journal come up too for certain things, even though I know no one linked them XD. What was it in the Akihabara@DEEP movie, where they were talking about Google being an index of the whole internet? Maybe it's something weird like that, where you don't have to sign up to be found on it XD;.

well, really, people don't submit you to google, but the more people who have linked you, the more often you will be indexed in google's system and the higher up you will appear, but some sites like LJ get indexed a lot and will help out a lot, which i think is what helps me out.

also del.ici.ous is the same way.
