Say Hi to Hi-kun

You've probably realized by now that I have built up Coat West exactly like a fandom in my head.

Turns out there's a big problem with that: my favorites always die. Or, you know, get fired, quit, disband, whatever.

So, of course, this week we had some news about Hikaru on the comm, which is that he's likely quitting (or has already quit) because he's begun to model seriously.

Not a secret: Hikaru is my favorite. ShoxHikaru is my Coat West OTP. Hikaru is the reason I got into Coat West in the first place, via Elos 3.

Probably should be a secret: When I read the post which confirmed my recent fears about Hikaru's lack of appearance for the last few months, I cried.

Like really. cried. with tears. At first, i was just a little wibbly, but then when I followed the link to his official Men's Egg profile, and then to a fanpage that's collected a bunch of his pages, suddenly I felt my chest all close up, and i thought this is just like Y3 all over again.

I just like him SO MUCH. It's not that I don't want him to get out of the porn industry and model instead, which is more respectable and probably safer and less demeaning...but. Just the thought of never having any more ShoxHikaru.

It's like my favorite series has been canceled suddenly. I WASN'T PREPARED. Not that I would have ever been prepared.

so I'm really excited about how much I love ShunxKai lately, and Sho's been senpaiing with them a lot, but I can't help feeling this pang every time i watch anything now. because for one thing, if Kai becomes my new favorite, it just means he'll be the next one to go.

and for another, I like Nagi, I really do, but every time I see him with Sho, I just keeping thinking about how much hotter it would be with Hikaru instead. I personally think that Sho and Nagi being good friends for real makes their scenes a little awkward (esp the kissing), and it all really just underscores how awesome Sho and Hikaru are together.

I also am having trouble getting used to the fact that Hikaru's name is apparently Okada Hiroki.

Anyway. I know it's all silly. And it's not like I expected pornstars, of all people, to have super-long careers.

But.

I miss Hikaru D:

I'll just be over here clinging to the hope that Sho and Hikaru can date for real now that one of them has quit.

Yes, I too will miss Hikaru, he and Sho were my intro to real (nice) porn, of course I am happy for him in his personal life, and then we can write the fic where he and Sho go off into the sunset for some personal porniness ... (sigh)

I know, and I hope so. He might not even be gone for real, he's just on a break at the moment until they see how things work out.

Frankly, I have to believe the money is better in high-end gay porn.

Yeah, the Okada Hiroki thing is WTFing me, too. He'll always be Hikaru to me, even if it was just a pseudonym for the sake of what little anonymity a pornstar can maintain.

i know. I'm going to miss him so. Sho's my favourite, only by a little bit, and i'm all T___T that my OTP might be broken dammit. I had a special place for Hikaru, but then i remember all the interview translations about how he felt about doing porn so... i'm happy for him but :(

And well, this is where fandom starts XD and fics make everything possible! (and now we have new possibilities! like: HikaruHiroki->jealous of Nagi->'cause is with Sho :P)

It really is like a fandom is ending without the drawn-out climax or that final episode/book being released. :o(

I'm trying to put a spin on it that this is just new canon, with a whole different set of obstacles and intrigues for the ShoxHikaru relationship. It's ... almost working? *fails* I'm suddenly very aware of how spoiled I've been by the eyecandy, fun, and good chemistry that Hikaru provided for CW. The bar has been set very high, ruining most other porn for me.

On the one hand, I'm glad that he's doing something he really wants to do and something that may bring great opportunities to him. On the other (more selfish) hand, I'm already missing the videos that could have been. My fanon!Hikaru will remain in touch with Sho. He'll either convince Men's Egg to have Sho model, too, or the two of them will compare notes in daily text messages like "Guess what(who) I'm doing!" They'll still be total dorks with good chemistry, leave things at one another's houses, and spend nights off together by drinking, laughing, and enjoying life away from the camera. *sighs* OTP come back.

As a side note, it's about time that I stop lurking and actually friend your lj since I've been visiting it often. Your fics (at least the DBSK and CW ones that I've read so far) are consistently well-written, explore interesting plot ideas, and have solid characterization. As for who I am, I'm mostly a reader, not so much a writer, and should have updated my journal ages ago. I'm guilty of reading and enjoying your work without leaving you the praise and feedback you deserve, but I'll try to be better about it in the future.

haha, i've been totally spoiled for other porn. Also for Sho with anybody else (except maybe Kai because Sho really enjoys how well Kai plays the kouhai, i think).

I know that Hikaru, Sho, and Nagi are all actually friends, so I'm sure they will stay in touch, yes. Also, we think that Sho and Hikaru go to the same school.

I hope he is happier (although i really doubt modeling even regularly pays as well as high-end gay porn), and I am kind of hoping Sho does show up in a Men's Egg or two, but otherwise, yeah, looks we'll have to write any more ShoxHikaru that we want.
