Visa paid off! ahahahaha score. for one single, shining moment I am solvent. SOLVENT.

The website now has fic on it from now back until May. While digging around, though, I realized that my single Avatar fic was not in fact on the Master Fic List, leaving me to be worried about god knows what else not being on there. At some point I will have to go through my journal month by month again to make absolutely sure. that sucks.

So now that the site is quasi-live, I guess I should make an announcement:

Theratbox.com is moving to Kira-Kira.net starting now. I'm going to concentrate on upping stories until that's all done, and then go back to trying to fix the several style issues that are left, the worst of which is that the tagcloud looks like it threw up pairings all over my archive page, and slightly less troublesome is that in Safari my sidebar dividers like to go across the whole page.

I'm not really sure when the old site will lapse, and I'm actually thinking about re-registering the domain for the year, since I did all this so quickly at the end of the year. But we'll see. I alway hate breaking everybody's links! But for the sake of the database, it must be done. I could also just make another sub-domain and stick the old site just under there. so instead of being "www.theratbox.com/whatever.html" it'd be "theratbox.kira-kira.net/whatever.html" .

...actually that's a pretty good idea and i might do that right now.

Moving/changing websites is hard. My old domain was held hostage by a bad hosting company for a loooong time after it suspended my site and then wouldn't get back in contact with me to transfer the domain. I bought a new domain and moved all my stuff and then months later got the bright idea to call the company under which I had registered the domain in the 1st place. They were able to move it. So now I have two domain names. What to do????

Yes, it worked out, finally. I dunno why websites are so hard. I put all of my old stuff back under the new domain (which actually points to a subfolder under my new domain) but now I have no idea what to do with the new domain! I thought maybe I could put my personal stuff there, but I don't want my real name associated with my internet name in any way. *sigh* I have no idea.

ah, yeah. it was kind of a pain moving s*l, and it had only been open for a few months before i got its own domain. i can't imaging the hassle with as much stuff as you've got up on yours. @_@

also, the sidebar issues persist in ff3 on mac and pc, as well as windows ie7. the only think i can think is some odd open div in the layout template. poke me later if you want me to take a look at it. i do adore the layout you made though. ♥

oh my god it is a freaking nightmare. And I mean, thank god the lj posting fields are basically the same as WordPress's, or this would take me like ten times as long.

Ah, one of the many reasons I won't switch from ff2! Yeah, if you're around and want to take a look, that'd be great. I'm not sure what the problem is, but even if we can't figure it out, we could probably just force the lines to be a specific length.

sure thing. I took a look at the sidebar template, where you'd think that would be, but I couldn't see anything that was actually producing the dividers or anything tags that weren't closed, but you're way better at CSS than I am.

the old stuff is all upped in a subdomain now, so it'll still all be where it was, more or less, with a change up front. so, for instance, if you used to look at http://www.theratbox.com/glitter.htm then now it'll be http://theratbox.kira-kira.net/glitter.htm .

Who knows how long it'll take me to get all the stuff indexed, so I thought I'd start passing that around.
