Firefox keeps bugging me about switching to 3 now that they aren't doing 2 anymore. I don't want to change, I like 2, and I used 3 for about ten minutes when i got the new computer and didn't like the buttons.

I have too much internet change in my life lately and not enough change in how many asian pop idols frequent my bedroom without being on a torn-out magazine page.

Also i am wearing socks on my wrists because it keeps my fingers from being cold. When you live alone, you do weird things sometimes without really acknowledging that they are at all out of the ordinary.

I was reluctant to switch to 3, but finally gave in a few weeks ago. There were a few things I didn't like at first but I have to admit that I have now forgotten about most of them.

Do you, like, tie the socks around your wrists? Or have you cut the toes off some old socks? Either way, that actually seems like a rather clever substitute for fingerless gloves (or topless mittens, as I sometimes say.)

no, i had some knee-highs that were too small anyhow, so i cut a hole in the heel for my thumb and a slit in the top for my fingers to poke out of, but what i discovered was that if i pulled them on like long gloves and then scrunched the top just around my wrists, it keeps my whole hand warm anyway. i guess it improves my circulation in my wrists or something, idk.

I actually did knit myself fingerless gloves last winter, and this works way better.

when i tried the first time, there was a skin to make it look like 2, but it broke the scroll bar. maybe it's fixed by now though.

there's no one to see you do weird things!~ you just do them. and they seem normal.

sometimes when i'm sitting on the couch, i start making guinea pig noises to piss Nikaido off. I start off quiet, and his little head pops up, but i just keep fooling around with my computer or whatever, pretending it isn't me until he goes back to whatever he's doing. then i do it a little louder, and nika looks up again, and gives a little test squeak back, but i continue acting like nothing's going on. then i get real serious about it, and he gets like "EEK EEEEK EK EEK" about it, which is guinea pig for "fuck you i know you're doing it you fucker" or something. I'm a jerk~

"You're a guinea pig!" Nikaido curled his lip, one ear pointed straight up in indignity. "That's nothing like a rabbit!" He batted at Senga with a paw, and Senga gave an ear-piercing siren of a shriek that made Nikaido flatten himself in shock with his paws over his ears.

"It's even better!" Senga declared, triumph written all over his chubby guinea pig face, and he had another piece of grass to celebrate.

Small and fluffy, Senga thought determinedly. I can do this. Small and fluffy. This was his second try. The first time, he'd come out as a ten-years-younger version of himself and been quite offended at his own subconscious for believing that his six-year-old person had been 'small and fluffy' also. Nikaido had nearly wheezed his little bunny self out of a lung, until chibi Senga had chased him around and wrestled him down and threatened to sit on him.

"Try again, you moron!" Nikaido had shouted. "Stop-- stop that! Just log off and try again!"

And so Senga had tossed Nikaido into a stream, and logged off on the spluttering curses.

He took a deep breath. Small and fluffy. Okay, go. And logged back on.

Senga is so not in any way smart enough to be a rat, lol. I think Taipi or Yokoo could be rats though, cause they're obsessed with grooming and having their nests all clean.

Ferret is pretty funny, though, especially since there were just those Reon articles where he wanted a ferret, and shoon was all "omg, what?! DAME YO."

I think Tama should probably just explain that Senga's not any good at it because Senga ISNT a rabbit. he'd be real bland about it, too and not at all understand why senga would want to be one. "Why? You two can hang out no matter what your avatar is. You aren't a rabbit."

"No," Tamamori said absently, continuing to string code to code on a virtual flatscreen in his blue room that might have been the matrix behind world domination for all Senga knew. Senga didn't get a lot of this behind-the-scenes stuff. He knew code ran the web and had been told everything was just 0's and 1's when it came down to it. But that didn't mean he got how it worked any more than a meat cleaver understood the molecular makeup of beef.

Tamamori's blueroom unnerved him. The way it wasn't anywhere, and wasn't really connected to the net proper, and the way Tamamori sat on air and made code spool out from his mind and scroll onto the flatscreen without an interface was just weird.

But Senga wasn't there to be unnerved. He gathered his wits around where he stood kind of awkwardly in the corner-that-wasn't. "Why not?" he asked. And then, when Tamamori gave no sign of having heard him: "You could totally make me a bunny avatar real easy..."

"Mm," Tamamori acknowledged. Meaning he could.

"Then--"

"Why should I?" Tamamori said, as if wondering about the weather. He wasn't being mean about it, but it was more like a 'well, what's in it for me? Not much I guess' kind of feeling.

Because I'm cute and need help? Senga didn't say, though his voice acquired a pout as he fidgeted a bit. "Well, Tama-chan's really good with stuff -- you can be anything you want all the time. I just want to be a bunny, but I can't."

"But why do you want to be a bunny?" The glance Tamamori gave was blandly incomprehending. He returned to his flatscreen. "Just because Nikaido likes to be one?"

"Well, yeah," Senga said, frustration surfacing. "I mean that's all, really. Why's it so hard?"

"Because you're not a bunny." Tamamori looked up. "Nikaido's a bunny. You're not. Sometimes you're a guinea pig, but mostly you're just Senga..." With a small frown between his brows, Tamamori turned back to his code. "You guys can still hang out either way. For real, even. What's the issue?"

"Oh," Senga said.

"Right."

"...thanks, Tama-chan," Senga grinned. "You're the best."

When Tamamori sighed, his blueroom was already back to empty.

i switched to 3, and i like it, but my laptop can't go to 3, too old an OS, so it's still 2. as for the buttons... it's a pain, but you can download a skin to make it like you like...

other than the look is a little different, what's actually different about it? everybody just sort of says "i didn't really notice" but if it's not going to be better, i'm not screwing around with it.

when i tried the skin the first time, it actually broke my scrollbar, which was equally unacceptable. but it maybe have been fixed by now.

well, i like the way the back/forward button works, and is a bit smaller. but. beyond that... when you click the address bar or google bubble, it automatically highlights everything. that's convenient, though a small thing. there are shortcut ways to bookmark that are a bit more efficient, but still easy to work with. it's mainly little things like that, where things are just a bit more streamlined. oh, and whenever i clicked the help menu by accident in 2, it would crash the browser, but it doesn't anymore. =p

ugh, well, hopefully, yeah, there's a better skin. =X

Things I like about Firefox 3, at least as it functions for me on Windows:

• When you enter stuff in the address bar, it'll pull up any address in your browsing history where the entered text appears at all, not just at the beginning. For example, if I started typing in kira-kira.net and had also recently visited theratbox.kira-kira.net, both would show up in the address bar dropdown.


• Somebody came up with this add-on that replaces the little x of the close tab button with a number (1-8 in my experience). As far as I can tell it only works with certain skins so far, but I love it because I don't have to keep track of the number of tabs I've got open when I'm switching between them using Ctrl+[#]instead of clicking around.


• When I'm using Ctrl-Tab to switch between tabs instead of Ctrl+[#], there's now a little list of all open tabs that stays up as long as I'm holding down the Ctrl button, so I can pick which tab to go to next without seeing the whole tab. If that makes sense.


• ...I'm pretty sure there were other changes I liked, but I can't think of them now.


• Oh! I remembered another one! Now, when you're notified of add-on updates, there's a little button you can click that'll show you what's been changed in the latest version of the add-on without having to go to the webpage. This is how I found out when Delicious finally made it so you can customize the shortcut keys on their add-on, which had hijacked other add-ons' shortcut keys in the transition from Fx 2 to 3.


• Apparently you can tag bookmarks in Firefox now! Of course by this point I'm too addicted to my Delicious account to go back to having my bookmarks tied to one place, but it's the thought that counts.

Those are just the things that are relevant to my interests, but I'm sure there's much more comprehensive documentation somewhere in Official Website Land, and especially more Mac-related stuff.

Yay, I scanned the magazine XD;. I had to dismantle the mag to get some proper scans, but it was worth it XD.

The magazine was really cheap, so you can see the page on the reverse side on the scans (*shakes fist*), but you can see the pics fine. AHH, IT'S SOOOO CUTE ^____^.

I didn't care for the magazine (I need no girly fashion in my life), but it required me to use all of my hulking strength to rip those gigantic paperclips out of the binding XD. I managed to salvage an Oguri Shun photoshoot also, so I'm happy I didn't pay 500 yen for JUST 2 pages of Ohmiya (although I would've done it XDD).

I reaaaaaaally really think that, at this point, nobody would be surprised if they came out. Arashi's obviousness makes my heart go dokidoki <3 <3 <3.

And WHY don't I have an Arashi icon? I've become pretty obsessed, so this is near-blasphemy. I guess I could make some omelette icons XDD.
