1. So I had this pimple, in an entirely undesirable place, and then it sort of became several bumps, and yesterday it turned scary colors, SO, i had to go to the doctor's.

So the male nurse practitioner was like "holy @#$*@#" when it saw it, and seemed puzzled by how blasé I was about the whole thing, but I already knew it was an abscess probably and that it needed lanced, and besides the rats get them sometimes and it's way grosser when they do. This doesn't, on the other hand, mean that I was super happy about being jabbed in the unmentionables with the largest hypodermic needle they make (an 18 gauge, if you wanted to know).

It fucking HURT. but the good news was that all three bumps were apparently the same bump, because everything all drained out at once. Also, EW. And obviously it needs to go on draining which is fine, except you can't tape anything to the area around it because of the hairs.

I have to keep tabs on it because it might turn into the MRSA. HURRAY. My stupid students complain about getting the MRSA all the time like the little hypochondriacs they are, and who gets it? Me.

2. While I was there, i mentioned the tick and had the guy look to see if there were tick bits just to make sure. And he was like "...well there's kind of a rash there." YAY LYME DISEASE. The best part was when he named the symptoms (fatigue, joint pain, headaches) and I was like "...you mean, my normal state of being?" So apparently I could be dying of Lyme Disease and I would never know.

So to review: potential MRSA AND Lyme Disease. I daresay I've had the most productive morning of anybody. So I'm on some crazy antibiotic for everything. STAY TUNED FOR MORE EXCITING HEALTH DISASTERS.

Oh, I guess it is. :( I didn't even know you could accidentally ask trick questions.

Ew.

I am too cheap to go to the doctor and have carefully and with sterilized needleage done this to myself (the first one, not the tick). The mirrors and position required would probably make the task an excellent candidate for some sort of naked candid camera. Heh.

Well, there was an attempt to do it on my own, not that I told the doctor that, but it had limited success, since I lacked a gauge 18 needle. When it started turning colors I had to finally give in.

Except for the pulsating abscess, it does indeed sound like the setup for a intriguing video.

D: None of the kids here ever get MRSA.

lol male nurse.

My male friend wants to be an OBYGN, but only for women age 18 to 30.

Get better!

Nobody here does either! They just use it as an excuse to not do things. "I can't share a book with him! He might have the MRSA."

thanks.

I have to believe that virtually any doctor could manage to take a needle and lance an abscess, BUT HEY W/E.

YAY SEE YOU SOOOOON.

People tell me it sounds like I have lyme disease all the time (I don't, I get tested every few months for shits and giggles). I REALLY HOPE YOU DON'T HAVE IT, THOUGH, IF IT MAKES YOU FEEL LIKE ME. D:

Also, abscesses, eeeew. I once had one in an undesirable place, and then it popped and it made a huge mess, and I was entirely more amused than I should have been.

Yeah, the symptoms kind of just made it sound like you turn into me, SO I EXPECTED TO BE IMMUNE.

I had a cyst under my bra once that was equally disgusting, and I was definitely just sitting at my computer when it finally exploded.

Ick. I had a cyst right at my tail bone. had it checked out and the doctor said that there are some people that get multiples and do nothing. *twitch* I had one and was in so much pain until it burst since when I was sitting on it to drive, there was no way to sit comfortably. There was one point where it was so painful, I was about ready to pull over and bawl my eyes out. Had surgery and got a chunk of my butt taken out since he said if you get one, especially in that area, bound to get more.

And hopefully not lyme disease. D-:

These are also symptoms of migraine and fibromyalgia, among other things, so, y'know. Don't panic. Or do panic, but only because it makes for entertaining LJ entries (this is why you like me, because I am all SENSITIVE and whatnot).

Dr. Rana prescribes chocolate and sparkly (or SHINee) boys for all of the above.

Thyroid problems too, which they continually test me for but say there isn't any problem with mine. Don't worry, i'm sure if something can go wrong, it will.

mmm, SPARKLee ♥ Also, picture of the SHINee boys' apartment when up, and they totally all sleep in bunkbeds, with leader's single jammed in the middle for easy maknae access. it was totally the cutest thing in the world.

Oh lord, that sounds like the worst place ever. I hope everything's fine. My dad had Lyme disease and was sick for years. Hope the antibiotics help soon. IIRC, it's a few weeks with Lyme disease before they do much.
