*spams randomly*

Does anybody else ever do this thing where there are some songs that sound so much like other songs that you sing the other song, and it syncs up perfectly? I always kind of thought I was the only person who did this, but TOKIO'S "Parasitic Plants" makes me sing along with Natalie Imbruglia's "Torn."

Listen to Parasitic Plants -- am i crazy?

The October's "Far Away" always makes me sing the Cure's "Just Like Heaven." Listen to Far Away -- when it gets to the chorus ("take me so far away") i start singing the show me show me show me how you do that trick etc.

And when Madonna's album Music came out, I always used to sing along to "Don't Tell Me" with the Corrs' "I Never Loved You Anyway" because it started with the same sort of guitar riff, but that totally worked too.

Does anybody else do this? I totally think it's just me.

I absolutely do this. I keep telling myself I need to learn how to do mashups -- Tiger Army's "As The Cold Rain Falls" with "I Melt With You," the Airborne Toxic Event's "Gasoline" with "A Town Called Malice," and, oh, did you realize that "Pretty in Pink" is built around the guitar riff from "Sweet Jane?"

One of the new AFI songs builds off of "Pictures of You," too.

that's badass, Pictures of You is maybe my favorite the Cure song ever, and I liked AFI in college. There's a Lit cover of Pictures that I adore.

You should absolutely check out Crash Love. If you didn't like AFI, it is not an album to change your mind, but if you like their sound at all, OMG NOT A BAD SONG ON THE ALBUM. Get the iTunes deluxe version, the bonus track "100 Words" which didn't make it onto "Sing the Sorrow" is AMAZING.

I don't have the AFI cover of "Just Like Heaven," but I've got one of them doing "The Hanging Gardens." It punches up the bass line in a really good way.

I think Sing the Sorrow is actually the album that I had. Is that the one with Silver and Cold on it?

I'll look into it! I'm kind of out of touch with the American music scene since I stopped listening to the radio, but I'm such an itunes whore it's not even funny.

Yes, yes it is.

I haven't heard the new AFI get any airplay, but all I have is a crappy Clear Channel "alternative" station, blech. But I'm seeing them next week!

It's not just you. Amy and I both do this all the time.

I especially love when you can do it intergroup-style with J&A units. KAT-TUN's Never Again begins exactly the same as NewS' Devil or Angel and you can sing the chorus of Koki's solo Shorty right along with Six Senses' dance break.

Also, Arashi's Dekiru Dake sounds suspiciously like Never Gonna Give You Up.

Ahahahaha, I tend to do this. But only with Christmas carols for some reason. *shrug*

I do that too, but it's usually my brain crossing annoying kids songs instead of cool stuff!

I get that sometimes, but more often Ill be singing along to the radio in a store or where ever and then realise Im singing in a different language to what is playing because I know the older jap/korean/german version of the song while a new one has just come out in English.

Once you mentioned Cure, I started to sing the chorus. :D I love that song.
