sore all over from walking around all yesterday, but the trip to the Kino's was totally worth it, since I got the Sept winkup and potato, and also a book for the new kinds of questions for the JLPT listening section.

Which i'm going to fail! a lot! sadface. Also, picked up a reader for elementary Japanese kids that's got a bunch of little stories for reading practice. I really like the series, but I probably should have shot a little lower than I did, since the 4th grade is proving to be a bit tough. wah, shameful.

I'm finished rewatching SPN 3 and starting on 4. I'm also done watching Scrap Teacher and trying to figure out what to watch raw next. Rachel suggested the Gokusens, but if they all talk like thugs I won't get much out of it. Anybody got any other suggestions? See above about my Japanese listening skills, so the dialogue can't really be any more difficult than Scrap Teacher's.

if you want to stay with a school drama how about Nobuta?

That's true, I haven't watched that yet. School dramas do seem to be easier, just because the vocabulary is more familiar than with a lot of other things (although less so for me than most people since I've never taken an actual Japanese class).

I was thinking maybe Buzzer Beat or something as well. Medical or police or lawyer dramas are all pretty much out. Yukan club is full of morons as I recall, I could try that.

Yukan Club IS full of morons. That should work out all right, I think. Most of the plot really isn't important/is non-existant.

You haven't seen NOBUTA? WHAT?!

Another drama I enjoyed was Anego (really, really stupid, and also has Jin... aka, it's really, really stupid, and I enjoyed it a lot).

I always love SPN, even thought I didn't like season 5 at all :/

I second the Nobuta idea. Also Dragon Zakura for school dramas. And everybody should watch Buzzer Beat, it is glorious and full of. Um. Inspiration. Yes. Inspiration and plot!

Yay for mags, I usually only get potato every month, but wink up has Kismai on the cover so, of course, I had to get that one too.

Also picked up the JLPT form. Im going to try for N2 this time, hopefully it isnt too high for me *crosses fingers*

As for dramas, I find that dramas, cos they are scripted are harder to follow in general without subs. I usually watch dramas with subs and variety shows without, Arashi's variety shows are awesome and usually pretty easy to understand without subs cos they talk more about everyday topics and sometimes have japanese taglines or subs on screen to follow with which helps my kanji. Though if you really want a drama, Yankee-kun to Magane-chan is your typical highschool drama.

I signed up for N3, but now that I have to pass the listening section in its own right, I feel the chances of me passing are 50/50 at best, even though I passed the 3 last year with a 302/400. At least I found a study guide for the new one at the Kinos, so i'll understand the directions and everything.

my listening is so poor that I honestly doubt it matters what I watch, tbh. My goal is just to watch enough of something that eventually some of my brain cells absorb something. Also, I personally find variety shows less entertaining, so I get bored easier. And the written stuff just distracts me because I read way better than I listen, so.
