i'm supposed to meet somebody at like 10am tomorrow so i need to sleep but it won't stop thundering like crazy D: seriously these storms are out of control.

I finished Dr. Who season 3 yesterday and as usual didn't enjoy the season ender. i wasn't filled with rage, though, so i guess that's a step in the right direction, but they continue to cycle main characters too quickly for me to get attached to anything, and Ten is...you know i think if he went around by himself I might like him better? idek, really. sometimes i think i am on the verge of forgiving him for not being Nine, but then five minutes later i'm like, never mind, false alarm.

I started Torchwood this morning, I wasn't going to, but a couple RL people insisted i would like it better, or at least appreciate how it tied in. I've watched the first three and don't seem to be bonding with that either. I mostly feel vaguely bad that Captain Jack is saddled with these people? They're kind of whiny and ineffective. Also fandom had led me to believe that Ianto was important and/or Jack's makeout buddy, so I was puzzled at his lack of appearance/importance.

sigh. fandom, you have let me down. thank goodness BTR had a new episode for me to watch at the gym, where James and a hot Latina pop star cram an entire relationship into three days. All the females in BTR are awesome; i wish those writers could teach some of these other series that trick.

Yeah, for as important as Ianto is made out to be by some people, he kinda sticks to the back and is the support when Jack needs it. People are taking what tension that they threw into the show and ran with it in fic.

DW Season 4 is better than three. I ♥ Donna. And her grandpa!

As for Torchwood, I don't know if I think you'd like it better, but it's camp and there's a bit more adult humor and content since it aired post-watershed. Jack/Ianto doesn't happen until the very end of S1 and during S2, and in most of S1, Ianto was basically "coffee boy." His role got expanded later, and the characters overall get better later, (though Tosh is ALWAYS awesome!) although there's one storyline of Gwen's that still annoys me. S2 is better than S1.

Aww, I thought I was the only one who couldn't forgive 9 for being replaced with 10! Everyone else was in total rapture of The Tennant. Fwiw, I did eventually forgive him. I still haven't come to terms with 11, though the Christmas special gave me hope...

And Ianto will indeed become Jack's makeout buddy. Eventually. Gwen will continue to suck. Always. With ever-increasing suction and vigor. *sigh*

Anyway, I stumbled across Chaotic Butterfly and Purely by Luck a while back (December, apparently, judging by my smashwords receipt), enjoyed them (and the various accompanying fics) immensely, and thought I'd say as much. A bit belatedly, but what can you do. Thanks for the good reads!

I'm two episodes from the end of the first season and i really think I will be stopping right there. It's just not...good, a lot. half of these aren't even cases.

Fair nuff. I came to really like it (until the end of the most recent season, which infuriated me), but I can totally see it wouldn't be to everyone's tastes.
