I don't understand how I can be so tired and falling asleep every three seconds on the couch, but as soon as i crawl into bed suddenly i can't sleep at all.

fmlllllllllll.

also i had to go back to the dr's today to have blood drawn (haaaate) and i probably should have discussed the fact that I've had a headache for a solid two weeks while I was there, but i just couldn't bear to argue with them about anything at the moment.

If you are arguing with your main health care provider, have you considered shopping around for another one? Not now, when you are so tired, but it sounds like they don't have proper care for you as their main focus.

After over a year going to my previous doctor and saying "My daughter is not well, what can I do?" and him saying "There is nothing wrong with her" I tried a new doctor and she said "anxiety, depression. Let's get you to the right specialist." Sorted!

i just feel like it won't gain me anything except having to re-explain all the junk that the doctors' office is used to about me to new people who will then want to give me the fat lecture and the calcium lecture and all that sort of junk which at least my current people have learned better than to do (often). also it will be a lot of change, which I hate.

and anyway, barring sudden career change (see above re: change) i doubt I am likely to reach a point where I'm not this tired all the time.

I've just read Dr Amanda's second book and I wonder if the tiredness is a famine reaction.
With all the hard work you've done eating carefully and exercising, your body may be needing a "diet holiday" so it can reset your metabolism.
Following her guidelines to only eat when you are hungry, and stop eating when you are comfortably satisfied, have at least 2 servings of fruit and at least 5 servings of vegetables a day, and a positive appraoch to exercise can help maintain your weight while you body catches up with the changes.

Good luck

I know what you mean. Unless I have some reason to get up, ie teaching the kiddies, all I seem to be able to do is turn off the alarm, move to the couch and proceed to fall back asleep for most of the day. Yesterday I was even entertaining the idea of finding a pillow at school and sleeping through my free period.

the one year that i had first period off for planning I would totally crawl into the building and then nap hidden in one of the planning rooms if I didn't have anything pressing to do.

I've had headaches off and on (mostly on) for the past few weeks, too. I think it might be pollen or mold or something. It's especially bad here in PA right now, maybe that's contributing to your problem.
