*Enshige and Shatteredtenshi pointed out that the 'kami kami kami kami' is a play on words, since the verb 'kamu' means 'to mess up.'

TN: Hands up if you think 'kami-sama' is Johnny (YOU), and 'megami-sama' is Julie. Also, you have no soul if you didn't burst out laughing at 'the gentle Kitayama-kun!' and 'Mr. Fujigaya!'

I CAN'T TAKE IT. This is so seriously a plea for a debut that I am pre-emptively heartbroken. "Shine the spotlight on us, yo! ONEGAI, PLEASE!" Tamamori's "Give us a chance!" made me wibble in a completely shameful way, as did Fujigaya's 'Is it reaching you?'

God, I bet Koyama was a complete puddle after hearing this the first time.

A thought - the カミカミ part I think may be a play on words with the かむ for 言葉をかむ, as in, bite on (= mess up on) words, it'd make sense with the 言葉がもつれて part too, also randomly, that part is my favorite part, it's like an endless loop of kami-kami-kami-kami going on in my head XD
To be entirely honest I came to copy and paste the lyrics so that I could actually sing along to the mp3, I get tooooo distracted by the swirly jumpy happy hyperness when I have the video streaming lol, thanks!

I'm not sure how you would like to translate this part, but actually, this part the lyrics is saying "konna koto wo" as in compliments, and that since they're saying it themselves, it's kind of embarrassing etc.

This part go together. Someone above it already said it, yes, it's not about love.

The 好 here is read as kou and means good as compared to suki/like, which is why you might have misinterpreted. And since they're complimenting themselves, that's why there's the nanchatte part, saying they're kidding.

思いやりのある　純朴な好青年です！

Same with this part then.

We're naive/honest youths who are thoughtful! (the aru part 'to have' refers to them, so they're the ones who have thoughtfulness, hence they're thoughful)

考えたこと　ないけど

It's okay to translate it as they don't think about it, but to be more specific, is that they have never thought about it.

神頼み is an actual phrase that means 'entreaty to a god'. The way you translated works as well since it's implied, but I just thought I'd point it out, so if you want, you can edit?

I agree on the カミカミ part being a pun as explained by enshinge.

I believe that's all I caught, so the rest is fine. (One more minute of work left, so I guess I managed to type up everything after all in time...)

Lots of kanji can be read in many different ways, some ways more than others, so it's not weird if you came up with a different meaning. Kanji like 生 can have over 100 different ways of reading...so. X3;　こんなこと, I should have specified, this was referring to the compliments indirectly. こんなこと means 'this kind of thing', then this kind of thing in this context then means the upcoming compliments in the song.

you could be right, since shokura hasn't dropped yet, the version I have is way too LQ to make out anything like that. But I do know that some of them have been trying their hands at writing lyrics, like Yokoo, and it seems like something they'd do since they are introing themselves after all.

I feel confident that even if somebody else wrote it for them, they had more than a little input into the final product.
